X is no longer a social network. It is a paid-verification publishing platform.
The X algorithm rebuilt around verification status, reply velocity, and AI integration. Free accounts and brand-voice posts get throttled. Verified founders posting in their own voice with consistent reply discipline get distribution that is hard to match anywhere else. We help founders and B2B brands build the kind of X presence that earns Grok citations and category recognition.

Most B2B social media advice in 2026 is still optimised for the 2019 LinkedIn algorithm. The platforms moved on. The advice didn't.

Three observations from running marketing for a SaaS company through 2024 and 2025: (1) Channel diversification matters less than category dominance on one channel. (2) Founder voice outperforms brand voice on every platform we tested. (3) Most marketing investment is now in 30-day learning loops, not 12-month campaigns.
The shift
Four things that fundamentally changed about X
X strategy from 2022 does not work in 2026. The algorithm rebuilt, paid verification became reach-gating, long-form content was added, and Grok AI integration changed how X content gets cited. Strategies built before any of these shifts produce poor results today.
Paid verification gates reach
Verified accounts get meaningfully more distribution than free accounts. The math is documented and consistent across categories. For serious brand presence, the $8 to $200 monthly cost is no longer optional.
Long-form posts now work
Posts up to 25,000 characters are supported and often outperform short tweets in engagement. The strongest accounts mix short reaction posts with longer in-depth threads.
Grok cites X content in real-time
Grok AI is trained on and cites X posts directly. Posts about real-time events, opinions, and analysis get pulled into AI engine answers within hours. This is unique to X among major social platforms.
Replies are content
Reply velocity, reply quality, and your reply count on other people's posts directly affect your distribution. Treating replies as throwaway interactions misses the largest single distribution lever on the platform.
Format mix
The three post formats that actually work
X now supports three distinct content formats, each with different best-uses. The strongest accounts mix all three. Picking one exclusively limits the upside on the other two.
Short format
Reaction postDaily presence, opinion-led brand voice

Our approach
The X Stack
Five layers, built bottom up. Each layer depends on the one below it. Brands that try to start at Layer 5 (paid amplification) without Layer 1 (foundation) waste budget. We work the stack in order.
Layer 5
Amplification
Promoted posts, Spaces, and partnerships when organic reach plateaus.
Layer 4
Network
Replies, community engagement, building a recognisable presence in your category.
Layer 3
Content
Mix of short reaction posts, long-form posts, and threads. Daily cadence with monthly thematic depth.
Layer 2
Voice
Consistent persona that holds up across daily posts. Founder-led voice almost always outperforms brand voice.
Layer 1
Foundation
Account positioning, verification decision, bio architecture, pinned post strategy.
The visual indent shows the dependency: each higher layer rests on the layers below. Layer 1 is the foundation. Layer 5 is amplification you should only run after the lower four are working.
What goes wrong
Common X marketing mistakes
Patterns we see across X programs that stall or never get traction. Each is fixable, but the fix only works once the pattern is named.
Posting from a brand account in a personal voice. Buyers can tell. The strongest X presence in 2026 is founder-led, not brand-led.
Treating X like LinkedIn. Voice, cadence, and content type all differ. Polished thought-leadership posts that work on LinkedIn often underperform on X.
Skipping verification for serious commercial effort. The reach difference between verified and free accounts is large enough that staying free actively undermines a paid distribution strategy.
Ignoring replies. Reply velocity and reply count on other people's posts is the single biggest distribution lever on X. Posting and not replying caps your reach.
Treating short posts as the only format. Long-form posts (1,000 to 5,000 characters) and threads now drive more distribution than short tweets in most categories.
Trying to be everywhere on X. Picking a niche topic and posting in it consistently outperforms posting broadly across multiple topics.
No real-time component. X rewards timeliness. Posts that engage with current events or industry news in the same day get distributed differently than evergreen content posted with no context.
Pricing
Engagement models
X engagements work best when paired with a founder or category expert willing to be the voice. Pricing assumes that ownership is in place.
